Ethical fashion inspired by Nordic culture.

Run by a small team in the UK, Nysnö is committed to providing sustainable and  eco-friendly products. We make a conscious effort to continually improve the production process to be as planet-friendly as possible.

Designed and printed locally, each item is prepared by hand and sent to you so that you can enjoy wearing it for urban and wilderness adventures. Garment production is carried out in Bangladesh with respect for the working conditions of the men and women who craft the textiles in environmentally friendly facilities which are GOTS certified and audited by the Fair Wear Foundation.

Organic Cotton

Most of our clothing is made from 100% organic cotton - GMO-free fibre that uses less water than standard cotton. In addition, its production does not involve the use of chemicals.

Global Organic Textile Standard

The strictest certification for textiles made from organic fibres. GOTS tracks the entire chain of production from farm to factory: from harvesting of the cotton, weaving of fibres, assembly of items, to the final product before printing and exportation. It certifies that cotton used is GMO-free, is grown without the use of chemicals and is processed and dyed without using any banned toxic substances. GOTS also ensures compliance with the labour standards of the International Labour Organisation throughout the chain of production.

Recycled Polyester

Recycled polyester is used as a complement (up to 15%) to organic cotton in some of our sweatshirts. To ensure that our sweatshirts are nice and soft against your skin, it is never in direct contact with the polyester, which is sandwiched between two layers of organic cotton.

The Global Recycled Standard label certifies that the materials used are recycled - from plastic bottles. GRS also guarantees compliance with social and environmental criteria such as treatment of waste water, the absence of certain toxic additives and respect for working conditions.

OEKO-TEX

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certifies the absence of harmful chemical substances in all products thanks to the “Confidence in textile” label. An independent testing and certification system that ensures that all textile products are processed in a way that prioritises:

  • The precautionary principle, which prohibits certain potentially harmful substances even where they are not (yet) legally banned
  • The absence of chemical substances that are harmful to health and the environment
  • A restriction on the lead content of dyes

Printing

Printed in the UK, we use PVC and Phthalate free inks approved by GOTS and the Soil Association with minimal waste in ethically conscious facilities.

Packaging

For shipping, we use minimal, 100% recycled and biodegradable packaging.
